When you try and edit an article, item, content or module you get the error below or similar. The error simply means someone else was editing that particular item and didn't checkout correctly whe they were finished.
* Check-out failed with the following error: The user checking out does not match the user who checked out the item.
* You are not permitted to use that link to directly access that page (#7).
FIX :
- Login to your website administration panel
- On the top menu, Click Site
- Click Maintenance then Click Global Check In
- Tick all the boxes
- Click the Check In button (top right)
- Problem fixed
